Have you ever wondered what to expect when signing up for a cosplay contest? What do the judges really look for? What documentation is required? What should I do on stage? Come along and bring your Disney knowledge, hosted by Sandra’s Cosplay Asylum and H&J Comics. The game plays like Jeopardy with the top three points winners moving into round 2. Round 3 is final Jeopardy where all three contestants bet their points to try to be the top winner!

Celebrity Highlight: Matt Meese & Tori Pence

Matt & Tori, both best known for the sketch comedy show “Studio C” on BYUtv, will discuss what it’s like to work in sketch comedy professionally. Come with questions and learn the basics of comedy sketch writing, developing ideas and characters, and bringing those ideas to life on stage!

Make it Faster or Easier? Cosplay and Historical Costume Shortcuts that Work (and Some That Don’t)

Presented by master cosplayers Vivien (Fresh Frippery) and Becky (Going Ape Costume), who have 50+ years combined of costume experience!

You need more time/less stress, but can you take a shortcut in your costumes? Two experienced cosplayers discuss sewing machines and sergers, materials, patterns, tools, linings, faking historical silhouettes, and other costume hacks and tricks! We’ll bring fabrics you can feel and a book list.

How did we go from hitting rocks to launching nukes? This panel will discuss the evolution of the technology of siege-craft: catapults, ballista, trebuchet, cannons, and more! Presenters from Titan Forged Siege Works build and demonstrate various medieval weaponry at Renaissance Faires around the country.

Cosplay and photography are usually a great combination, but sometimes photographers can have other motives. This panel will discuss how to spot the hallmarks of a predatory photographer and the tactics they employ to betray a model’s trust and use photography as a dating app or even an excuse to assault their models. Presented by veterans of both cosplay and photography, this panel will be a great resource and way to protect not only yourself but also your friends, family and partners.

Backdrops and Facades Demo

Presented by professional artists Troy Alan Larson & Rain Williamson

Location: Workshop Room, 5 – 6 p.m.

This demonstration teaches the various techniques that are used to create environmental textures utilizing a variety of readily available materials. Spectators will listen to a detailed explanation of all the processes as well as view a live demo of how these techniques are performed.

Celebrity Highlight: Adrian Ropp

Location: Main Stage, 6 – 7 p.m.

Adrian Ropp has been working in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. Beginning as a film animator, Adrian brought to life the adventures of the Velveteen Rabbit (Netflix) and many other delightful animated cartoons. He began working in games as the Head of Story for the award winning Disney Infinity and Hogwarts Legacy, and has drawn beloved comic book characters such as Maleficent, Archie, Underdog and The Pink Panther.

A native of Idaho, Adrian has lived in the mountain west his entire life and enjoys helping new talent develop their craft in amazing and magical ways. A recent recipient, Adrian currently spends a portion of his time advocating for kidney donors to help bring hope to the thousands of people who need a friend.

Join up for a game of SUPERFIGHT: where players get hero cards and a combination of super – or not so super – powers and then must argue about how their hero would win in a fight versus another.
