About the Elko Convention & Visitors Authority
The Elko Convention & Visitors Authority has been serving the Elko area since 1977.
In addition to promoting the Elko area as a business and leisure tourism destination, the ECVA is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Elko Convention & Conference Centers.
For tourists, visitors and Elko community residents and businesses, the mission of the Elko Convention & Visitors Authority, as a public asset, is to provide quality facilities, market the community and area, and support events and activities which improve the community’s overall quality of life and adds to economic development and vitality.
Organization of the ECVA
The Elko Convention & Visitors Authority (ECVA) was created by Nevada Revised Statute Chapter 228 in 1975 as the Elko City – County Civic Auditorium Authority. The ECVA is governed by a five-member Board of Directors comprised of one liaison representing the Elko City Council and Elko County Commissioners respectively, two at-large elected members who reside within Elko City limits and the Authority District, and one at-large elected member who resides outside Elko City limits but within the boundaries of the Authority District.
