Classic Rides and Rods Event
Elko’s Classic Rides & Rods may not help settle the Ford vs. Chevy debate, but it sure does let visitors get up close and personal with some of America’s finest muscle cars and hot rods (and quite a few motorcycles!) each summer.
Featuring a classic car show ‘n shine, a burnout competition and plenty of “looky-looing” for three days in September, the Classic Rides & Rods event is a can’t-miss event held in Elko. Bring your camera and Capture all the action as classic ‘65½ Mustangs go up against ‘66 Camaros to earn prizes at this gathering of gearheads.
Elko Car Show
The event is held in early September in Elko City Park. Each year, hundreds of sports car and hot rod owners descend on Elko for a weekend of fun, fun, fun. Festivities include show ‘n shines, awards, live music, games, food, dancing, celebrity guest appearances and all the cars you can drool over!
A strong contingent of motorcycle riders also show up each year, adding to the variety of engines you’ll hear revving from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. The event is capped off with an awards ceremony at the Convention Center just before lunch on Sunday.
